Wilder and Helen Penfield Research Station

About

Nestled along the shores of Lake Memphremagog, the Wilder and Helen Penfield Field Station provides a calm and functional setting for scientific research and teaching.

This research station, operated by McGill University’s Faculty of Science, serves as a base for fieldwork in limnology, aquatic ecology, and environmental science. Whether for long-term studies, student projects, or short sampling campaigns, it offers:

  • Comfortable on-site lodging (up to six people) suitable for research teams;
  • A workspace for basic sample preparation and analysis;
  • Direct access to Lake Memphremagog, enabling easy deployment of instruments and data collection;
  • A protected natural environment ideal for observation, experimentation, and field-based learning.
